PRESIDENT OF INDIA IS ALL EARS TO PROF.MARWAH
Vice
Chancellor of the University of Media Arts
(UMA), Prof. Sandeep Marwah was the special
guest on the occasion of he release function
of Santosh Bharti's Book by the Hon'ble
Vice President of India, Shri Bahiron Singh
Shekhawat at his official residence in capital
recently.
Prof.Marwah took the
opportunity to brief the Hon'ble Vice President
about all the activities of the University
of Media Arts and told him that it had already
established three international records.
He also told the VP about the success story
of the university and its affiliated colleges
for having been able to draw students from
as many as 48 countries already in its very
short span of its formative year itself.
The Vice President was obviously mighty
pleased to learn of the grand success.

WITH TWO FIRST FORMER CITIZENS OF INDIA
Vice Chancellor of the University of Media
Arts (UMA), the first film university of
India recently had a unique privilege of
sharing various activities of the university
with the two former first citizens of the
country, Hon'ble Shri Narayanan and Hon'ble
Shri R Venkat Raman in the capital.
While Shri Narayanan
is already a patron of the University of
Media Arts, Prof.Marwah took opportunities
to request Shri Venkat Raman also to become
is parton, which the latter gladly acceded
to.

ALUMNI MAKES WORLD RECORD
A 111-minute record-breaking episode of
CID on Sony has it all and more.The feat
gained it entry into the Limca Book of Records,
an acknowledgment by the Guinness Book of
world records and an entry into the Berlin
film festival; the film was shot in DV cam
that enables it for theatre release as well.
It is now officially the longest ever single
shoot in fiction in TV or film format.

UNIVERSITY REPRESENTATIVE AT UNIVERSITY
OF MEDIA ARTS
The
National Coordinator and Senior Research
Consultant of Cardiff University U.K. Arts
Alan Evans was recently invited by Vice
Chancellor of University of Media Arts Prof.
Sandeep Marwah for an exchange of views
on teaching management to the businessmen
of the twenty-first century. Beside University
of Cardiff, Mr. Alan Evans work with nearly
40 other institutions
of higher learning in England and Wales.
He has also specialized in more than one
areas of human resource management. Alan
Evans promised to explore the possibility
of exchange of students between University
of Cardiff and University of Media Arts
in the near future.

LOOK
OBJECTIVELY AT FILMS - PAHLAJ NIHALANI
Expressing
his concern about TV and print journalists
imposing their personal opinion of a newly
released film on unsuspecting cine-goers,
the President of Association of Motion Picture
& Television Producers Pahlaj Nihalani
urged them to look positively at the work
of film artistes. He was delivering the
convocation address to the students of University
of Media Arts' Asian Academy of Film &
Television. Describing filmmaking as a beautiful
profession to be in, Pahlaj Nihalani said
above all a film professional should be
a good human being. Lauding the efforts
of Prof. Sandeep Marwah for promoting film
and television production in north India,
Pahlaj Nihalani offered all possible help
to the men and women trained by the academy.
Addressing the students the diplomat from
Turkmenistan Dr. Chinar Rustomova said that
educational institution should be treated
as a holy place. She hoped that the nationals
of her country will soon be taking advantage
of the training opportunities offered by
the academy. The bright Indian Police Service
Officer Piyush Mordia called upon the producers
to make films and television programmes
on socially relevant subjects. Speaking
on this occasion the well known journalist
Santosh Bhartiya remarked that the television
journalism scene is all set for a major
change and advised the new entrants to this
profession to equip themselves adequately
to meet its requirement.
