AUSTRALIAN
FILM MAKER IN NOIDA FILM CITY
The
first and the only Australian filmmaker of
Indian origin Satish Rai stated that filmmaking
is beyond cinematography, the sound track

chord. It is the filmmaker who decides the
chord according to his understanding of the
audience. He was invited by the International
Film & Television Research Centre to share
his experience of acting, directing and producing
films in Australia, with the students of Asian
Academy of Film & TV. Satish Rai is currently
in India to shoot a film. Addressing the students
of the Academy he said that the film industry
in Australia is in a nascent stage and it
offers great opportunity for producing films
and television programs. He disclosed that
he is also looking for a suitable cast in
India for his feature film about Indians who
had migrated several centuries ago to the
Fiji Island, Surinam and Trinidad Tobago etc.

RAJ
KAPOOR IS MY ROLE MODEL-SANJAY KAPOOR
The
well known cine artist Sanjay Kapoor said
that the main purpose of making a film is
to entertain the viewers by narrating a visually
powerful story. He was addressing the students
after formally inaugurating the 2004-05 session
of 'University of Media Arts' Asian School
of Media Studies' at Noida. Answering questions
put to him Sanjay Kapoor said that like for
any other human endeavour proper education
and systematic training is necessary for filmmaking.
Defending the film professionals who may try
to induct and promote their kith and kin into
the film industry, he said that what really
matters in the film industry are one's own
technical competence, hard work and talent
and not a god father. Responding to a comment
by a member of the audience about his role
in his latest film Julie, Sanjay Kapoor said
it is the effectiveness of a role rather than
anything else what is of significance to an
actor. He mentioned that he is currently playing
a role in feature film Anjaane, Sanjay Kapoor
disclosed he is seriously toying with the
idea of producing a feature film himself.
On this occasion, veteran journalist Dr. Aziz
Burney, well known television producer A.S.
Bedi and management guru Raj Diwan also shared
their thoughts with the audience. This function
was followed by a weeklong retrospective of
films starring Sanjay Kapoor. |
