India's
first film academy with ISO 9001 certification
The Asian Academy of Film
and Television (AAFT), the first film academy
to get an ISO 9001 certification in this
part of the world, was founded in 1992 to
offer aspiring film makers and actors the
opportunity to hone their story telling
craft and get a start in the industry. Our
film academy
has been planned as an alternative to formal
film schools and it conducts short term
courses in four areas of specialisation
- production/direction & TV journalism,
video editing & sound recording, camera
& lighting techniques and acting &
presentation. E-mail us to know
about the courses.
Over the years the film
academy has developed a well-rounded
curriculum, embracing the entire spectrum
of filmmaking, including production, teaching
and research. Well-trained faculty members,
comprehensive and disciplined teaching methods
and state-of-the-art equipment have made
our film academy the country's leading institution
for training talented people, especially
in the fields of cinematographic production,
management and theoretical research.
Although the basis of the
film academy, covering nearly 100 acres
at Noida in India, is regular short-term
courses on all aspects of filmmaking, there
are also programmes of adult education offered
in various forms - Bachelors'
and Masters' degrees in cinema, media
studies and mass communication. These facilities
at the film academy offer scholars from
both home and abroad every convenience for
teaching, creation and research. One of
the advantages of our film academy is its
outstanding
faculty who shoulder the task of training
cinema professionals in everything they
need to know about their craft and in the
most advanced techniques in the industry
for the 21st century.
The AAFT is now internationally
known and it attracts students from
various Asian, African and European countries
as well as the USA government departments
too depute their staff for need-based training
to this film academy. While the film academy
has trained four officials of the Government
of Bhutan in May 2001, it also had the privilege
of training few members of the staff of
the Lok Sabha in the recent past. Click
